Alex’s 2012 youtube video
Posted by: | CommentsAlex, a loyal DCS reader, made a video about 2012 and this video is partially based on my 2012/pole shift articles. I just want to post the video in here so you guys can have a look. It actually got some attention on youtube with 100+ comments and 2,577 views…Not bad at all. So here it is and a big thanks to Alex for spreading the facts about 2012:
Funny body facts
Posted by: | CommentsI found a little something on the Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry website and I’d like to share it with you. It’s actually a list of useless but funny body facts most people (that includes me) aren’t aware of. Visit the website for the complete list, but I’ll post some of my favorite here:
Women blink almost twice as much as men.
Fingernails grow faster than toenails and your middle fingernail is the quickest one to grow. It takes about 150 days to grow out a full length fingernail.
Your brain continues to send out electrical wave signals approximately 37 hours after death.
When you were born, you had 350 bones in your body, and after childhood 144 of these bones fused together.
Laughing and coughing put more pressure on the spine than walking or standing.
The eye muscle is the fastest reacting muscle of the whole body. It contracts in less than 1/100th of a second.
Your brain stops growing when you are about 15 years old.
There are some others you can read but these were my favorites!
Galactic Federation
Posted by: | CommentsToday, in my daily search for scams, I found a real gem! I ended up on a website called The Nibiruan Council and the amount of crap you can read there is quite amazing. Let’s start with the introduction just to give you a brief idea:
Welcome to the official website of the Nibiruan Council, a multidimensional off-world council whose members are connected to the planet Nibiru.
The Nibiruans’ mission is to prepare humanity to take their rightful place in the greater galactic community.
Jelaila Starr is the Nibiruan Councils’ messenger and channel. Through her articles, workshops, and lectures, the Nibiruan Council’s message has touched the hearts of many people around the world inspiring hope and understanding.
What? A multidimensional off-world council whose members are connected to the planet Nibiru? Yeah right, the planet that is still to be found.
Guess what? The website sells books!
For a special prive of 89$ you can get two “awesome” (feel the sarcasm here…) books:
We are the Nibiruans
Learn about Earth, the Nibiruans, our galactic history, starseeds,
walk-ins, how to recode your DNA and much more.
The Mission Remembered
The Nibiruans reveal their work to prepare for 2012. Discover the galactic events whose final days are being replayed on Earth between now and 2012. Learn what you can do to alter these events and prepare for 2012.
Ok, so learn about Earth, the Nibiruans, our galactic history, starseeds, walk-ins, how to recode your DNA and much more. Did I just read how to recode your DNA? That’s correct, DNA reprogramming. Learn how to do in in the confort of your home while watching T.V.! Totally ridiculous.
Wait, there’s more crap
We learn on the website that there are five races in the Galatic confederation:
Felines
The Felines are one of the two primary races in our universe. They arrived here by invitation of the Founders. Having successfully completed their Universal Game and completing their universe, a group of 45 Felines volunteered to come to this universe to help setup and oversee the same game here.
Humans
he Humans are the youngest of the four primary races in our universe. They were first created by the Felines on a planet in the Vega star system of the Lyra constellation.
Carians
The Carians are a race of birdlike Beings. At their most evolved state, the ruling class of the Carians resemble humans with eagle-like features and coloring.
Reptilians
The Reptilians are the creation of the Carians, their parent race. They evolved on a planet in the Alpha Draconi star system of the Orion Constellation. The royal line of Reptilians are the Draconians, the winged dragons.
Nommos
The Nommos are a race of Beings that takes the physical forms of dolphins, whales, mermaids/mermen. Their home world is a planet in the Sirius star system that is mostly warm aqua-blue water.
I could go on and on
Ok, so I really could go on and on with that as there’s an incredible amount of information on this website. I shouldn’t really call it information as it’s not what it is. It’s just an incredible amount of false stuff to help sell books. Hope you laughed a bit!
2012 galactic alignment: hoax
Posted by: | CommentsI said it numerous times and I wrote plenty of articles stating 2012 is a complete scam. A DCS reader posted a link to NASA’s “Ask an Astrobiologist” website and it deserves some attention. Here is the question/answer:
Question
Hi, i have a question about the sun alignment in the center of the galaxy in 2012. Will the sun be in the EXACT center of the galaxy? or just lined up/next to the center of the sun. If you can, can you explain this to me. (15 years old) Thank you very much.
Answer
I can’t explain it because it is just an Internet hoax. There is no alignment with the center of the Galaxy in 2012 or any time. As to the Sun being in the center of the Galaxy, that it impossible; the Sun and solar system will always remain at about 30,000 light years from the galactic center. These stories on the Internet are simply lies, and I am sorry if they have been a problem for you. A lot of the stuff on the Internet is wrong, and you have to learn to distinguish the truth from the lies. One simple test is to ask if any of these claims are made by real scientists, or if they have been reported in newspapers or on TV news. The stories about alignments or disaster striking in 2012 do not pass this test.

Hope this clears a couple of things. I know some people will say you can’t trust the NASA, blah, blah, blah and I don’t care that much honestly. One thing I’ve learned from that 2012 thing is that you can’t argue in a logical way and there will always be people to scare the shit out of you no matter how logical your argumentation is. There will always be people to tell you to “open your eyes”, get out of your “perfect world”, “conspiracies are all around you”, etc. With over 600 comments on my 2012 article, I’ve seen the discussion going into many directions and I can say this thing will go on until 2012 because new scams will surface every day. And guess what? In 2012 we’ll be talking about 2016, then 2020 and so on.
Daily Common Sense goes with a full RSS feed
Posted by: | CommentsI decided today to go with a full RSS feed and full articles on the first page. I initially thought it was cleaner to only post part of the articles on the first page but it has the nasty consequence of generating an incomplete RSS feed. I read a lot of blogs and realized how painful it is to actually have to visit the website to read the complete post, so I usually unsubscribe.
Unfortunately, I think the older posts will remain uncomplete in the Feedburner feed. So from now on, you will be able to enjoy Daily Common Sense from your email inbox without having to visit the website! But remember, you are more than welcome to comment!
Incredible pictures of Mars
Posted by: | CommentsDailymail has a really nice article about the most detailed photographs of Mars ever taken:
Scientists have released some of the most detailed photographs of Mars ever taken.
The pictures, which were snapped from a European Space Agency (ESA) probe, show a region of the Red Planet called the Echus Chasma.
The deeply-incised area is a network of valleys that planetary geologists believe were created by channelling groundwater that once flowed on Mars’ surface.
You can read the rest of the article, but more importantly watch the other pictures over here:
What the hell happened with web bot today?
Posted by: | CommentsWas there a show on tv today or something about the web bots? I received a sudden rush of traffic to my article about the web bots, which you can find over here. I don’t see any problems with that as I’m always open to get more traffic, but I’m wondering where the hype is comming from. If you guys have any clues, please let me know. Oh by the way, if you haven’t read the article, it’s a good read!
Alien Interview: Top sercret transcript
Posted by: | CommentsHere’s the latest scam I’ve found: “Alien Interview: Top secret transcripts from Roswell”. That’s right, for the small fee of 18$ for a paperback, you get:
the complete and unedited top secret transcripts of a series of interviews with an alien survivor of the notorious Roswell UFO crash conducted at the Roswell Army Air Field.
I really have nothing else to say about this, it’s just funny to even consider an Alien interview. Was he speaking English? Anyway, have a quick look!
The LifeStraw - safe drinking water to the world’s poor
Posted by: | Comments
Tonicgen.com posted a very interesting article on a technology that would help provide safe drinking water to the world’s poor. That technology is called the LifeStraw and here’s a quick description of it:
The LifeStraw is a portable water purifier for prevention of common diarrhoeal disease – and can be carried around for easy access to safe and clean drinking water. It is deemed so innovative that it received the Saatchi & Saatchi Award for World-Changing Ideas this past February.
This really is an innovative technology and is a concrete solution to a complex problem!
You can visit the LifeStraw website for more information or read the article at tonicgen.com
Sky Serpent: new and efficient way to produce clean energy
Posted by: | Comments
This is always nice to see a creative idea developped in someone’s garage. Well, this is exactly what Doug Selsam did with his “Sky Serpent”. His impressive design uses twenty-five small turbines instead of the massive blades on a modern wind power plan. To get a better idea, Environmental graffiti explains the technology :
Doug Selsam’s Sky Serpent is the right invention at the right time: traditional turbines are perpetually on back order, and he has 3kw of generation capacity that’s far more affordable and requires fewer materials to build.Selsam, who attended college at UC-Irvine but didn’t graduate, has very little formal training in the ways of physics or wind power, which is probably what left him prepared to break the mold. “This is a 1,000 year-old design” he says of the single-bladed turbine, “I knew if I could get more rotors, I could get more power.”
While on the surface that is in fact true, it flies against the dogma of the engineers and physicists that dominate the wind power community. The complicated physics of ensuring each rotor doesn’t simply encounter the prop wash of the ones in front of it, may have been enough to drive them away. However, Selsam figured out a method: he’s found the proper angle to align his string of rotors at in order to ensure they all have flow, and the optimum spacing for the rotors themselves.
So far, Doug sold 20 dual-rotor turbines that produce 2,000 watts and is getting a lot of attention from engineers. Let’s see where it leads, but it’s clearly a nice technology.

Sky News has an old but interesting and funny article on a company about to commercialize flying saucers:
US company Moller International has begun to manufacture parts for its Jetsons-like personal flying pod, the M200G Volantor.
The M200G is the size of a small car and is designed to take off and land vertically.
Company founder Dr Paul Moller calls the craft “the ultimate off-road vehicle” as it is able to travel over any surface.
“It’s not a hovercraft, although its operation is just as easy,” said the aeronautical engineering boffin.
“You can speed over rocks, swampland, fences, or log-infested waterways with ease because you’re not limited by the surface.”
You can read the article there:
http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,70131-1278332,00.html and there even are videos about the technology.
I must admit the whole thing sounds like a scam, but the article wasn’t released on April 1st and Sky News is not a small news network. You can also visit the company’s website: Moller.
The Earth’s axis DIDN’T shift
Posted by: | CommentsSummer Solstice is near and theories are flowing about the axis shift. The sun is too far north, the sun isn’t setting at the proper place, etc. I wrote a previous article about the Earth’s axis shift, just stating that it was completely nonsense to think that the axis of rotation changed but now, I would just like to provide a simple everyday life example of why it doesn’t make sense.
This example is called satellite T.V. I’m sure you know roughly how satellite T.V. works and that the antenna at your home as to be in direct line of sight with the satellite of your satellite T.V. provider. It does make sense, if you want your antenna to receive signal, it has to be in line with the satellite, otherwise it doesn’t receive any signal. Trust me, it’s not something roughly aligned: moving your antenna of a single degree can make a difference. Now, if you want to be able to communicate with the satellite day and night, it has to stay in the same position. How is this achieved? Well, that kind of satellite is called a geosynchronous satellite:
A geosynchronous orbit is simply an orbit that allows the satellite to remain apparently stationary above the same location on Earth.
In order for a satellite’s orbit to remain stationary above the same location on Earth, the satellite’s orbital period (the time required for one complete orbit) needs to equal the Earth’s rotational period - one day. Because the satellite orbits at the same rate the Earth rotates, the satellite remains stationary above the same longitude on Earth.
In addition for the satellite orbit to be truly geostationary, the orbit must not be inclined to the equator. Otherwise the satellite will oscillate in a north south direction above the same longitude.
Just like that:
So that’s why you are able to stay connected with the satellite at all time. Now, remember when I said moving your antenna of a single degree would make a difference, well now imagine if the Earth’s axis would shift! The Earth does move, but not the satellite. There aren’t any physical bindings between the Earth and the satellite which means your antenna is no longer pointing toward the satellite. So if you are still able to watch satellite T.V., the Earth’s axis is the same.
Also, it is ridiculous to think it wouldn’t have important impacts. Just the length of days would be different! I strongly encourage you to have a look at this video as it’s pretty good to understand the basics:
I hope it cleared it all!
