Thanks to a loyal DCS reader for pointing this website to me: Great Dreams. This website is a never ending list of dreams and prophecies. You can literally spend a year reading all information on the website. Unfortunately, it ain’t what most of us would call information. While I don’t think it has any pretension of being 100% accurate, there are really a lot of random stuff out there! I came across an interesting list of potential disasters/predictions for 2008 and let’s have a look:

  • 2008 will be a year of shocking news and large explosions with a serious increase of earthquakes and volcano eruptions. (Feb and Aug 2008)
    • Shocking news, large explosions, earthquakes, volcano eruptions. February’s now gone and I don’t recall such terrible events. Let’s get back to this one in August.
  • Expect a full restructure of the internet.
    • What’s a full restructure of the internet? I mean, I’m in the computer industry and a FULL RESTRUCTURE is impossible. There are certainly changes coming up, but guess what: It’s called technology. Technology constantly evolves and the Internet evolves faster than any other technology, it’s no news to anybody. Important changes will be needed in the coming years to ensure the Internet continue to evolve, but a complete restructure of it is just a random thought.
  • Total restructure and merging of many television networks.
    • Is total restructure a new buzz word I’m not aware of? I wouldn’t be surprised to see merging of a couple of television networks but that’s just business. We can say that with companies in general: 2008 will be a year were many companies will be merging together. That was also true in 2007 and will be true in 2009 as well.
  • More action with UFO and new planets discovery
    • Planets discovery is a sure bet, the universe is full of planets we are not aware of and we discover new planets every year. As for UFOs, we have to make sure they exist in the first place.
  • Merging of many airlines and terrible explosions/accidents
    • My comment on merging of many television networks also applies here, it’s called business and it’s a possibility.
    • Terrible explosions and accidents? It happens every year, I agree 100%. It’s just not a prediction, it’s a sure bet.
  • A full restructure of the US economy is ahead and the reinstitution of the draft will bring much more death with children in Iraq.
    • Restructure again. US economy is not going very well right now, but a full restructure I’m not sure. It’s the same type of comment we saw with the “Full restructure of the internet”. Changes yes, modifications yes, but fill restructure is just too big. Communism maybe?
  • Tremendous medical (heart) and technological discoveries are ahead of us.
    • No news here, next prediction please.
  • Upsurge in earthquakes in the ring of fire (Japan) Aug/Feb. 2008
    • Let’s get back to this one in August.
  • The US will experience an upsurge of earthquakes, large explosions and volcanoes activity (July/Aug/Feb 08)
    • Same here, we’ll review in August.
  • Serious scary news pertaining to nuclear plants and nuclear technology secret deals in the US / Russia
    • We’ll see next year, saying no would be the same as predicting something.
  • Nuclear accident at sea and/or in land - Feb/Aug 2008
    • We’re clear for February. August will be a big month according to this list
  • Tremendous planetary action/changes in our Universe
    • I thought this was 2012. So now we have 2008 as well. Which year is the end of the world? Pole Shift?
  • Death news for many famous people including President Bush, Larry King, and Clinton (Feb/Aug 08)
    • Famous people die every year. As for Bush, Larry King and Clinton, it doesn’t mention it will happen to them directly. I’m 95% sure they will face a death news during the year, they know so many people.
  • Negative news from France and Italy Aug 2008
    • That is vague. There will also be negative news from the U.S., Canada, Germany, Russia, Iran, Iraq or any other country.
  • Serious fires and explosions Feb/Aug 2008
    • I’m pretty sure this was covered before, it’s the third mention of explosions. Yes, I can confirm, explosions will occur in 2008 and fires will occur as well.
  • Many famous people to die of heart attack and suicide in 2008
    • Many famous people die of heart attack and suicide every year.
  • An upsurge of accident involving children
    • That’s vague. Accidents? Death?
  • US total financial restructure (Feb/Aug 08)
    • isn’t that the same as “A full restructure of the US economy” that was covered before? I think it is.
  • NASA full restructure.
    • Stop that restructure thing.

After reading this list, I would like to make a briefing of 2008:

There will be a full restructure of the Internet, NASA, television networks, US economy and merging of airlines. Many people will die of heart attacks and suicide, and death news will come for many famous people. Serious fires, explosions, earthquakes and volcano eruptions will also occur. Medical and technology discoveries will be made. Nuclear accidents will occur and nuclear technology secret deals will go on in US/Russia. And finally, important changes in our universe will occur and more children will have accidents.

You’re the judge. While 95% of the predictions are extremely vague and can be related to anything, I have the firm intention of getting this list out in 2009 (If I haven’t exploded in a nuclear accident and I can still run my website because of the full restructure of the internet) and have a look at every point again.

Text of President Bush on Wednesday, as provided by the White House.

Director, thank you for joining me. Good morning. At this moment, somewhere in the world, terrorists are planning new attacks on our country. Their goal is to bring destruction to our shores that will make September the 11th pale by comparison. To carry out their plans, they must communicate with each other, they must recruit operatives, and they must share information.

The lives of countless Americans depend on our ability to monitor these communications. Our intelligence professionals must be able to find out who the terrorists are talking to, what they are saying, and what they’re planning.

To help our intelligence agencies do this, Congress passed the Protect America Act last year. Unfortunately, Congress set the law to expire on February 1st — and then failed to pass new legislation that would keep these tools in effect over the long run. And so at the 11th hour, Congress passed a temporary 15-day extension of the current law which will expire at midnight this Saturday. I signed that extension. I did so to give members of the House and Senate more time to work out their differences.

Well, the Senate has used this time wisely. I am pleased that last night, senators approved new legislation that will ensure our intelligence professionals have the tools they need to make us safer — and they did so by a wide, bipartisan majority. The Senate bill also provides fair and just liability protections for companies that did the right thing and assisted in defending America after the attacks of September the 11th.

In order to be able to discover enemy — the enemy’s plans, we need the cooperation of telecommunication companies. If these companies are subjected to lawsuits that could cost them billions of dollars, they won’t participate; they won’t help us; they won’t help protect America. Liability protection is critical to securing the private sector’s cooperation with our intelligence efforts. The Senate has passed a good bill, and has shown that protecting our nation is not a partisan issue. And I congratulate the senators.

Unfortunately, the House has failed to pass a good bill. And now House leaders say they want still more time to reach agreement with the Senate on a final bill. They make this claim even though it is clear that the Senate bill, the bill passed last night, has significant bipartisan support in the House.

Congress has had over six months to discuss and deliberate. The time for debate is over. I will not accept any temporary extension. House members have had plenty of time to pass a good bill. They have already been given a two-week extension beyond the deadline they set for themselves. If Republicans and Democrats in the Senate can come together on a good piece of legislation, there is no reason why Republicans and Democrats in the House cannot pass the Senate bill immediately.

The House’s failure to pass the bipartisan Senate bill would jeopardize the security of our citizens. As Director McConnell has told me, without this law, our ability to prevent new attacks will be weakened. And it will become harder for us to uncover terrorist plots. We must not allow this to happen. It is time for Congress to ensure the flow of vital intelligence is not disrupted. It is time for Congress to pass a law that provides a long-term foundation to protect our country. And they must do so immediately.

Thank you very much.

That’s exactly how fear propaganda works. The whole thing is all about creating a feeling of fear to make you accept something that wouldn’t be reasonable. The two main parts they want you to get in that statement are:

At this moment, somewhere in the world, terrorists are planning new attacks on our country. Their goal is to bring destruction to our shores that will make September the 11th pale by comparison. To carry out their plans, they must communicate with each other, they must recruit operatives, and they must share information.

Simple isn’t it?

UFOAn interesting article has surfaced yesterday on India Daily. Their ability to write BS is awesome. Before quoting the article, I remind you that India Daily is in the top 100,000 (53,781 today) visited websites according to Alexa, meaning millions of people are reading articles and “news” on that site every year. The article is quite short so let’s post the complete article:

All of us are focused on identifying the large visible extraterrestrial UFOs. These UFOs are not easy to locate as they use gravity waves and electromagnetic flux for creating effecting shield. The shields make them effectively invisible with our terrestrial technologies. The technology of stealth is much superior in nature.

However, there are many micro level UFOs and Unidentified Submerged Objects (USOs) that hover our atmosphere and under ocean water of extraterrestrial origin. These micro UFOs and USOs forms the basis of collecting information on our earth for the advanced extraterrestrial civilizations.

The micro UFOs have life forms. They multiply and evolve just like any other life forms in the earth. Their organic nature makes it impossible for us to be able to recognize them. These micro UFOs and USOs collect information on a daily basis and transmit the same to the extraterrestrial organizations.

What the hell?

They write things in a way you can’t deny it. There’s no evidence of what they say, no proofs or anything but still, you have to believe it. I see people coming miles away saying:

  • “UFOs do exist, you can’t deny it!” -> Maybe, who am I to say it doesn’t exist?
  • “UFOs are among us!” -> Maybe, who am I to say they’re not?
  • “UFOs blah blah blah” -> Maybe, who am I to blah blah blah

You get the idea. I’m not writing this to discredit UFOs existence, I write it because the article is ridiculous. Why is it ridiculous? Take the first sentence for instance:

All of us are focused on identifying the large visible extraterrestrial UFOs.

I’m sorry, but no. Not all of us are focused on identifying the large visible extraterrestrial UFOs. That’s the art of creating a “Fake hype” for something that simply doesn’t have any.

These UFOs are not easy to locate as they use gravity waves and electromagnetic flux for creating effecting shield. The shields make them effectively invisible with our terrestrial technologies. The technology of stealth is much superior in nature.

Who the hell are you to comment on something that is invisible to our terrestrial technologies? Have you located any and analyzed their technology? I don’t say it’s false, I just call it disinformation. It’s written like if it was the absolute truth.

The micro UFOs have life forms. They multiply and evolve just like any other life forms in the earth. Their organic nature makes it impossible for us to be able to recognize them. These micro UFOs and USOs collect information on a daily basis and transmit the same to the extraterrestrial organizations.

Please. They multiply and evolves and are impossible to recognize. Again, does India Daily have special relations with the extraterrestrial organizations to know that information? Of course, extraterrestrial organizations have invisible life forms on earth but they inform us of it? That kind of spoil the whole purpose of having unrecognizable organisms living among us. Then, they collect information on a daily basis and transmit it to extraterrestrial organizations. I don’t even want to comment.

That’s simply another great disinformation article from India Daily. I love their way of writing things. It’s just: That’s the way it is and just the fact of writing it proves it.

You can always write bullshit without justifying but as soon as you get into science, people are firing from everywhere if your arguments aren’t good enough. Logic? None. That’s why India Daily is so popular…And a piece of crap.

My articles about 2012, planet X and pole shift are extremely populars and people really like them. I mostly received really good comments and I’m really happy about it. Sometimes, when I receive a “more negative” comment, it’s about my ability to apparently jump to conclusion too fast. I’m quite surprised because in all my articles I usually mention that no one holds the truth and we can’t be sure of anything. I provide opinions backed by scientific data and it’s usually a far more solid proof than any other doomsday theory articles you will find on the Internet.

I don’t consider having the truth or jumping to any conclusions. In fact, I find it quite funny that we usually accuse science to jump to conclusions too fast when we let doomsday prophets jump to conclusions without even asking a damn question. For the same reason I can’t jump to conclusions, 2012 prophets should not and trust me, they jump faster than me. There’s no negotiation with them while I think I can understand both sides. I respect people believing in that kind of stuff because I welcome different opinions: different opinions are good. What I’m trying to prove with my articles is that following scientific facts (We all agree that science is driving our world and is the most concrete thing we have to explain what’s around us), this 2012 stuff is losing a lot of credibility. Is rationality the only way of seeing life? Definitely not and thank God. But in times of fear, being rational really helps.

Why did I write these articles? People are scared to death. Trust me, I’ve received comments from people that couldn’t sleep or even go to work because of the 2012 propaganda. I respect people having different opinions and believing in the end of the world in 2012, but creating a climate of fear is not acceptable. You know how we kill a climate of fear? Information. I didn’t just write that to make people feel good, I wrote it because I do strongly believe nothing will happen in 2012 and because most scientific facts are pointing the same direction I am. I’m trying to put a bit of rationality in all that fear propaganda. Everyone is free to do what they want with the information I provide.

There’s one important thing we all have to understand: People are making a shit load of money with 2012. Books, TV shows, etc. It has always been like that and it will always be like that. Now you may say: well you’ve got Ads on your website and you make money with that. Totally true, but my blog is not only about 2012, it’s an information blog. But anyway, what’s best: Making a shit load of money by creating a climate of fear and making people scared to death and miss days of work because of that OR making not so much money and provide real scientific evidence that we have no proof the end of the world is going to end in 2012? I write this blog because I love it and I like to inform people about real life matters. I think it’s fair.

I feel really good with my articles because I’ve received tons of emails from people thanking me about it. I’ve changed a couple of persons’ life in a good way and that makes me feel good. When I go to bed at night, it’s nice to know I’ve had a positive impact on people’s life. I couldn’t sleep telling people the world will end in 2012: I just can’t deal with that. Especially when there’s not a single proof.

I would like to say that I think we will put an end to our own world before any doomsday prophecy comes true. But, you know, I’m not God and anything can happen. Only time will tell…

2012 is a business

Before you read this article, here is a video I recently recorded about 2012 and how people build businesses around it to make money. While a lot of people say that you can’t trust NASA or the government because they would certainly hide this 2012 stuff from us, I say there are a lot of people who want to spread this because they make money out of it. So, in the end, who do we trust? Watch it, I think that explains it all, but still, read the article and all the comments for more information.

What is 2012 about?

The year 2012 is referring to the last year of the Long Count Maya calendar. The current Great Cycle, as the Mayas call it, is set to end on the winter solstice of 2012: December 21 2012 and many people believe that on that date, the world will change and never be the same. Some predict terrible events resulting in the destruction of our world and some predict that it won’t necessarily end, but that we will enter a new era and massive changes will occur.

This article will try to answer most questions you may have in a rational way. because there are way too many websites creating some sort of fear propaganda around 2012 and as you will see, you have nothing to be scared of.

There’s too much disinformation going on about this subject and there’s an article you can read that was published around 1990 that reminds me the current situation:

What will happen on December 21 2012?

Quick answer: Nobody knows, but probably not much.

There have been a lot going on regarding the 2012 prophecy recently, including the movie “I am legend”, but  surprisingly, not much information about what is really supposed to happen on that date is available. This is Probably because nobody knows and also because probably not much will happen. Most information available about 2012 is making reference to mass destruction of the world as we know it, earth’s pole shift/magnetic field reversal, Nostradamus predictions, end of Mayas calendar, etc.

The base of all the predictions is the end of the Maya calendar in 2012, which is supposed to mean the end of the world or a period of radical changes. In fact, the end of the Maya calendar is known as the end of the Great Cycle. People find it easy to believe in that theory because Maya civilization is known for advanced writing, mathematics and astronomy. It can seem like they really know what they’re talking about, but the truth is that the end of the Great Cycle is not the end of the world, it’s in fact a great celebration for the Mayas:

For the ancient Maya, it was a huge celebration to make it to the end of a whole cycle” says Sandra Noble, executive director of the Foundation for the Advancement of Mesoamerican Studies in Crystal River, Fla. To render Dec. 21, 2012, as a doomsday or moment of cosmic shifting, she says, is “a complete fabrication and a chance for a lot of people to cash in.”

From USA Today

On the winter solstice in 2012, the sun will be aligned with the center of the Milky Way for the first time in about 26,000 years(Milky Way is one of billions of galaxies in the observable universe. The Galaxy has special significance to humanity as it is the home galaxy of the planet Earth). This special alignment means that the usual energy that typically streams to Earth from the center of the Milky Way will indeed be disrupted on 12/21/12 2012 at 11:11 p.m. Universal Time. Scientists are actually in great doubt about the fact that the Mayas even knew what they were talking about.

Astronomers generally agree that “it would be impossible the Maya themselves would have known that” says Susan Milbrath, a Maya archaeoastronomer and a curator at the Florida Museum of Natural History. What’s more, she says, “we have no record or knowledge that they would think the world would come to an end at that point.”

From USA Today

Putting apart scientific data, here are the commons beliefs of the December 21 2012:

  • Galactic Alignment. This Galactic Alignment occurs only once every 26,000, this is considered as the end-date in the Mayans Long Count calender. It is the alignment of the December solstice sun with the Galactic equator.
  • A comet hitting Earth (Nostradamus)
  • Earth’s Pole Shift/Magnetic field reversal
  • Increase of calamities, natural disasters, mass destruction, etc.

I don’t want to repeat myself, but all of this is very vague as nobody really knows what will happen and the world is not at its first doomsday prophecy. There have been a lot of “Unfulfilled” prophecies in the past and you can have a look at this Wikipedia document for a list of unfulfilled religious prophecies.

What I find quite interesting about the 2012 theory is that there’s not much publications from well respected scientific organizations. NASA has published a couple of articles about the pole shift, but nothing else that could reveal a certain fear of the end of the world. Now you could argue that “big organizations” certainly wouldn’t reveal anything that has to do with the end of the world, but that’s another debate.

2012 conspiracy theory

I mentioned in the “What will happen” section that there’s a lack of scientific information coming from well respected sources like NASA. Some people claim there’s a conspiracy theory behind the prophecy to hide it from the public so it doesn’t create mass panic. Now, this does and doesn’t make sense. At first, it sounds like it could be true because I totally agree the government could restrain publications from the NASA as it’s a governmental agency, but I find it weird that this kind of information wouldn’t “leak”.

Do you really think something as big as the end of the world wouldn’t leak from any agency? Keep the NASA apart, do you really think the scientific community would miss something as big as that? When there’s no scientific data about a subject, you really have to doubt.

You’ve probably read a lot of information on websites from people claiming they know more than they should know and that the government is hiding all this information from you. Government is hiding a lot of things from you, more than you probably imagine and they would probably try to hide the end of the world if it was going to happen. But, let’s picture this: The Mayas were there 1000 years before Christ which makes it about 3000 years from now. Do you think someone could hide the end of the world for 3000 years if it was really going to happen and was really that possible and scientific?

I have my doubts.

Pole shift/reversal, the only 2012 end of the world possibility

The only rational “2012 End of world” possibility is actually pole shifting. A Pole shift is a rare phenomenon and is characterized by the north and the south poles swapping places. Such reversals, recorded in the magnetism of ancient rocks, are unpredictable. They come at irregular intervals averaging about 300,000 years; the last one was 780,000 years ago. I wrote an article on pole shift that explains the whole process, have a look: What is that pole shift thing?

Such event could really disrupt our planet that’s true. Imagine the North pole and South pole swapping places: Telecommunications, animals, humans, etc. would all be affected and it would be a really important change. There’s only one thing you need to consider… I’ve read in a lot of different places that a polar shift is going to happen on December 21 2012 and it is totally false:
Polar shift is a process that roughly takes 5,000 years to complete and doesn’t start on a specific date and time. The real truth is that nobody knows when the next one is due.

The process takes time and another myth wants the earth’s magnetic field strength to be near zero during that transition time. It would actually be as strong as it is now but simply a lot more complicated. Once again, it is explained in my What is that pole shift thing? article.

Will I die on December 21 2012?

I can’t tell, the Mayas can’t, Nostradamus can’t and the aliens can’t. On December 21 2012, a comet won’t hit the earth, a pole shift won’t happen instantly and a massive gravity burst won’t happen either. The only thing you can fear is a pole shift and it can take up to 5,000 years to complete…

What if you’re wrong?

In the case that I am wrong, that every scientist on this planet is wrong and that the NASA can’t figure out a simple galactic alignment that would put our world to an end then I guess we are all in the same situation. You, me and everyone will die. Scary isn’t it? Well, no one can tell what will happen tomorrow or in 2012.

Hope you enjoyed

I hope you enjoyed reading on the 2012 end of the world prophecy and that you are looking at it in a completely different way. Post your comments and come back to Daily Common Sense for more scam debunking.

twitter is an easy way to reach me, feel free to add me: http://www.twitter.com/bentremblay

I just can’t believe what I’m reading sometimes. I have no problem with people having different opinions than me, that’s mostly why human relations are made of: disagreement and discussion. If everybody would think the same thing, our world would be kind of boring. The problem is when people are giving false information to prove their point. I usually avoid speaking when I don’t know what I’m talking about or if I don’t have valid arguments to prove my point. But it seems some just don’t care about that, they’re just so much convinced of their beliefs that they’ll twist the information to fit their way of thinking. My latest finding comes from India Daily, once again and here’s the short article:

According to some scientists, there is a reactor at the very center of the earth. That creates the electromagnetism for the earth. The electromagnetism in turn support life forms.

There are evidences that the Mars was timing with life forms. Something weird happened there and the life as we know vanished from the Mars surface. According to some scientists, Mars lost its electromagnetism as its core cooled down.

The Mayans and other civilization have warned the world that some cataclysmic will happen between 2012 and 2025. What did they mean? Was it that the earth’s core will cool down like that of Mars? Does that mean earth will be lifeless like Mars?

The same scientists that say there is a reactor at the very center of the earth, also say the reactor is running out of Uranium fuel. It is possible that it will run out of fuel between 2012 and 2025.

See how this article is built? Propaganda at it’s best. Look at the first sentence:

According to some scientists, there is a reactor at the very center of the earth. That creates the electromagnetism for the earth. The electromagnetism in turn support life forms.

Do you see any reference to where that information is coming from? No source article or anything. You know why? Because there’s none.

Then, we read:

The same scientists that say there is a reactor at the very center of the earth, also say the reactor is running out of Uranium fuel. It is possible that it will run out of fuel between 2012 and 2025.

I know what scientist he’s referring to: Geophysicist J. Marvin Herndon. He’s the author of a theory that wants the core of the earth to be made of Uranium instead of Iron. Iron has been the main theory for years and mostly everyone was believing it was right, including the NASA. It’s totally true that Herndon claims that if made of Uranium, the core will someday exhaust its supply of radioactive material.

The way it’s put in the article is very confusing because it’s put in there like a fact. It seems a fact that the earth’s core is made of Uranium, while it’s mostly approved by most scientists that it is made of Iron. Then it says the core will exhaust its supply of radioactive material between 2012 and 2025. Herndon has never mentioned such date, he’s a scientist not a prophet.

Then why putting exact dates in the article? Well, to back the 2012 end of the world theory. But see how it’s been modified a bit? It’s not an absolute 2012 now, it will happen between 2012 and 2025! It has been changed to be more credible but to follow what the Mayas said, their calendar is ending in 2012, there’s no 2025. I mean it’s all or nothing here, please. 2012 or 2025? 2019 maybe?

It was just to show how such a small article could be full of content. Full of false content. I’m really sick of all that disinformation because there’s a lot of people that probably read the article and took it for granted without even searching for reliable sources of information. I wouldn’t care if the article was making reference to real facts. That would have been just a different opinion.

It’s in the best interest of our society to inform people properly.

PropagandaI think an important thing in life is to remain rational and not being caught in all sorts of fear/war/whatever propaganda. The key to that is being able to detect propaganda. In fact, I’m amazed that propaganda still works really good in today’s world because access to information is so much easy. Access to information and education is key to eliminate propaganda. Well informed people are less likely to believe things that doesn’t make sense because they can make their own objective opinion from things they’ve read or seen. With Wikipedia and all the information available on the internet these days, you don’t have any excuse anymore to be misinformed.

Wikipedia defines propaganda as follows:

Propaganda is a concerted set of messages aimed at influencing the opinions or behavior of large numbers of people. Instead of impartially providing information, propaganda in its most basic sense presents information in order to influence its audience.

Propaganda can take the form of, but not limited to, leaflets, posters, TV and radio broadcasts and Internet websites. Any medium that has access to mass population can be used. Propaganda is a very cleaver principle and works mostly by appealing to your emotions while making you believe it is appealing to your reason. In fact, it tries to make people act like animals more than rational, self-thinking persons. The most common form of propaganda is fear propaganda, but there are numerous types. The thing they all have in common is that they are appealing to your emotions and not to your brain. It’s really easy to figure out why it works so well with fear: What’s your reaction when you’re afraid? You’re acting under impulsion and not with your brain; that’s also what animals do. You make people fear something so they approve whatever agenda you may have as long as it resolves the issue. War on terror anyone? Also, what do you do to people not agreeing with you when you’re afraid? You reject them, creating a community of “believers” and clearly separate Good from Bad. Of course you’re always on the good side, never on the bad side. Then you become Self-righteous and the propaganda wheel is in good shape!

So, how to detect it? It’s really simple, when a group of people in charge (Government, at work, school, etc.) tries to justify actions they have intentions to take by appealing to your emotions/feelings, there’s good chance they have a hidden agenda or want to start a propaganda campaign about something. Another good clue is that they won’t make reference to any rational/scientific/proven argument just to make sure you’re not self-thinking. The part where it gets tricky is if arguments are made up to make you believe they’re right. That’s where information and education enter the game. If you’re well informed, you will be able to detect those lies because you can think in a rational way and make links with things you’ve read and experienced.

A good thing can be to observe existing propaganda campaigns and note their similarities. You’ll notice that war, end of the world, UFO, etc. propagandas campaigns all make reference to your most primitive emotions and doesn’t make reference to any scientific/proven/valid arguments. It’s all about emotions and feelings while making you think it’s rational by the ways it’s put!

It’s a very short, straight to the point article about propaganda but I think it’s a good thing to know. Also, if it gave anyone the “drive” to be more informed about their world well it’s a success.
