According to this website, the earth axis tilted an additional 26 degrees recently. Quite strange we didn’t notice it because by looking at pictures, it looks to be quite an important change.

Do you really think a 26 degrees axis shift can happen without anything more than increasing volcanoes and earthquakes like mentionned on the website? 26 degrees is huge and would mean MAJOR climate changes. There’s also the fact that we would notice a difference in the amount of light we receive from the sun everyday and a major difference in the Sun’s rising and setting positions. There are hundreds and hundreds of examples we can come up with just to prove this theory doesn’t make sense, it’s just another proof of the amount of disinformation available on the web.

Apparently, UFOs have been spotted over Lake Erie. This is about 2 months old news but I’m pretty sure there’s a lot of people who didn’t see the video. Before going into comments and reactions, let’s watch the video:

There are three kinds of reactions for that video. The first possibility can be: “Look at how the medias always turns UFOs stories into a laugh. They just want to hide this from us by making us believe it’s pure comedy and pure nonsense. The governement is hiding something from us and the population needs to know! UFOs Exists!”

The second possibility is: “UFOs are pure human invention and it’s a definitive scam as usual”.

The third possibility, which I prefer is: I won’t say UFOs don’t exists as there’s no way we can be sure of that. In fact, it’s hard to believe humans are the only form of intelligent life in this universe. Anyway, that’s not the point. What I’m sick of seeing is lights in the sky with a poor resolution and a confident UFO hunter saying on T.V.: “There’s no doubt these are UFOs. It’s time for people to know and that is the proof UFOs exists”. People have been chasing UFOs for years and years without being able to provide a real proof of their existence. Now we have High Definition camcorders being more affordable than ever. If you guys want to prove it, it’s now. The technology is there, stop providing cell phone videos.

SunI received a comment yesterday on one of my article about pole shifting. This was a reaction to the fact that I said recorded previous poles shifts on Earth took about 5,000 years to complete. This comment was that a magnetic pole shift happened on the Sun recently, which is a bigger mass than Earth and it didn’t take 5,000 years to complete. Thus, a pole shift can happen on Earth and real fast.

I’d like to clarify that. The answer I’d like to make official would be: If I can peel a banana, then why can’t I peel a strawberry if they both are fruits?

Unfortunately, while kind of funny, it isn’t really a proper answer. The more I think about it, the more it makes sense and can be an official answer…But let’s elaborate a bit. First of all, the Earth and Sun aren’t like the banana and the strawberry because they both aren’t planets. That’s the first mistake of the affirmation: comparing the Sun and the Earth like being two similar things. The Sun is a star, while the Earth is a planet. This makes a huge difference because the minute you know that, you can’t compare both equally.

The other important thing to consider is that the Sun is known to be on a 11 years cycle. What does this mean? Every 11 years, there’s a magnetic pole reversal happening on the Sun. Longer cycles have been recorded of course, but it’s usually an 11 years cycle. Does the Earth have such cycle? Luckily, no.

I’m not saying a pole shift can’t happen in a single day on Earth. While there’s not much chance of seeing that happening, who knows? The problem is “If it happens on the Sun it can happen on Earth”. This is not true and it is the kind of argument too often used in different domains. The Sun and Earth are two completely different things. Don’t forget that stars are mostly made of gas, while this ain’t the case of planets.

I continue to think that “If I can peel a banana, then why can’t I peel a strawberry if they both are fruits?” is the best answer to that argument. Because even if the Sun would’ve been a planet, there’s no way you can go with that kind of argument, affirmation being true or false.

I came across an interesting and somewhat crappy web 0.5 (Yeah, a bit over web 0.1, but still…): The Universe - Solved. It states that we live in a virtual reality and guess what? There’s a book about it! God I wasn’t surprised to see a book on the second page of the website. If that guy was so dedicated to his theory and not for the 24.95$ per book, he would at least explain a little bit of its theory on his website. But nothing. Only really vague statements with reality/virtual word comparison images and the table of contents of the book. I actually found the best description on Amazon:

What if reality isn’t really what you think it is?
What if our world was just a big video game?

It’s actually not as far-fetched as it seems, says Jim Elvidge. Within 30 years, we will be able to create virtual environments indistinguishable from our reality. Within a few more decades, even physical realities will be manufactured. And we are marching toward an inevitable merge with machines. What’s more, it is actually impossible to tell whether or not we have already reached that point.

An expert in complex computational systems, with over 20 years of research in cosmology, quantum mechanics, philosophy, anomalies, and futurism, Jim Elvidge presents a theory of reality so perfect, so powerful, that it explains all known scientific and cultural anomalies. Why is the universe so perfectly designed to support life and matter? Why does life feel like it is accelerating? Why do people see UFOs? Is there life after death?

The evidence is actually all around us, within us, and present in every decision we make. This book may completely change the way you look at your world, your life, your friends and family, and the PC on your desk.

Why is there always a book at the end of a conspiracy theory website? If everybody thinks these are mostly B.S., who buys them? I’ll always be amazed. Anyway, isn’t it cheap 24.95$ for the answer to the Universe?

Even though I think it’s mostly crap I think his theory would be interested to read about as you can’t write something like 300 pages with no content; You at least have to have a couple of good arguments. I would never pay for the book but I’d certainly be open enough to read it if given to me.

I particularly enjoyed: “The book everybody is talking about”…No!

Anyway, just thought I’d share this finding with you: Visit the website and you’re the judge.

UFOAn interesting article has surfaced yesterday on India Daily. Their ability to write BS is awesome. Before quoting the article, I remind you that India Daily is in the top 100,000 (53,781 today) visited websites according to Alexa, meaning millions of people are reading articles and “news” on that site every year. The article is quite short so let’s post the complete article:

All of us are focused on identifying the large visible extraterrestrial UFOs. These UFOs are not easy to locate as they use gravity waves and electromagnetic flux for creating effecting shield. The shields make them effectively invisible with our terrestrial technologies. The technology of stealth is much superior in nature.

However, there are many micro level UFOs and Unidentified Submerged Objects (USOs) that hover our atmosphere and under ocean water of extraterrestrial origin. These micro UFOs and USOs forms the basis of collecting information on our earth for the advanced extraterrestrial civilizations.

The micro UFOs have life forms. They multiply and evolve just like any other life forms in the earth. Their organic nature makes it impossible for us to be able to recognize them. These micro UFOs and USOs collect information on a daily basis and transmit the same to the extraterrestrial organizations.

What the hell?

They write things in a way you can’t deny it. There’s no evidence of what they say, no proofs or anything but still, you have to believe it. I see people coming miles away saying:

  • “UFOs do exist, you can’t deny it!” -> Maybe, who am I to say it doesn’t exist?
  • “UFOs are among us!” -> Maybe, who am I to say they’re not?
  • “UFOs blah blah blah” -> Maybe, who am I to blah blah blah

You get the idea. I’m not writing this to discredit UFOs existence, I write it because the article is ridiculous. Why is it ridiculous? Take the first sentence for instance:

All of us are focused on identifying the large visible extraterrestrial UFOs.

I’m sorry, but no. Not all of us are focused on identifying the large visible extraterrestrial UFOs. That’s the art of creating a “Fake hype” for something that simply doesn’t have any.

These UFOs are not easy to locate as they use gravity waves and electromagnetic flux for creating effecting shield. The shields make them effectively invisible with our terrestrial technologies. The technology of stealth is much superior in nature.

Who the hell are you to comment on something that is invisible to our terrestrial technologies? Have you located any and analyzed their technology? I don’t say it’s false, I just call it disinformation. It’s written like if it was the absolute truth.

The micro UFOs have life forms. They multiply and evolve just like any other life forms in the earth. Their organic nature makes it impossible for us to be able to recognize them. These micro UFOs and USOs collect information on a daily basis and transmit the same to the extraterrestrial organizations.

Please. They multiply and evolves and are impossible to recognize. Again, does India Daily have special relations with the extraterrestrial organizations to know that information? Of course, extraterrestrial organizations have invisible life forms on earth but they inform us of it? That kind of spoil the whole purpose of having unrecognizable organisms living among us. Then, they collect information on a daily basis and transmit it to extraterrestrial organizations. I don’t even want to comment.

That’s simply another great disinformation article from India Daily. I love their way of writing things. It’s just: That’s the way it is and just the fact of writing it proves it.

You can always write bullshit without justifying but as soon as you get into science, people are firing from everywhere if your arguments aren’t good enough. Logic? None. That’s why India Daily is so popular…And a piece of crap.

Red Planet LandFirst I’d like to thank Chris, a Daily Common Sense reader, who found the Red Planet Land website. It’s really awesome and hard to believe but it does exist. You can visit the website and have a look for yourself but it’s basically a Mars real estate website. That’s true, you can buy a 1 acre land on mars to secure your future. Ridiculous.

For about 35$, you get 1 acre of land on mars and the full package you see on the picture which is basically a certificate, facts sheet and a picture of mars. I would personally feel bad selling this to people. The real question is how could someone even think of buying this, thinking it’s true?

Why would anyone pay 35$ for a piece of paper that has absolutely no legal value and that you won’t be able to use? The NASA is trying to have a Man-made mission to Mars by 2037, which means it will take a really long time before regular people like you and me can make it to Mars! The owners of this company will be dead by the time we can go to Mars (If one day we can…) but until then they cash-in!

Another good scam I guess…

PlanetAfter my popular article 2012 Explained - Why it shouldn’t be feared, I thought I would talk about a related issue. here’s Planet X Explained - Why it doesn’t matter that much

What is Planet X?

First of all, Planet X or Nibiru as some like to call it is a large hypothetical planet beyond Neptune. Why hypothetical? Because no one ever saw or proved the existence of Planet X. That’s also where the name X comes from; to represent the unknown. A lot of attempts were made to prove the existence of the planet, even by the NASA, but without success. Here’s the origin of the search for Planet X from Wikipedia:

At the beginning of the 20th century, many astronomers speculated about the existence of a planet beyond Neptune. The discovery of Neptune resulted from calculations of the mathematicians John Couch Adams and Urbain Le Verrier to explain discrepancies between the calculated and observed orbits of Uranus, Saturn, and Jupiter.

After the discovery of Neptune, however there still were some slight discrepancies in those orbits, and also in the orbit of Neptune itself. These were taken to indicate the existence of yet another planet orbiting beyond Neptune.

Since then, there’s been a lot of research done on the discrepancies in those orbits and many astronomers consider Lowell’s Planet X hypothesis to be over. This is mostly because there’s no discrepancies in the space probes (Pioneer 10, Pioneer 11, Voyager 1 and Voyager 2) trajectories that could be attributed to the gravitational pull of a large unknown object (Planet X). Which, in short, means there’s not much chance for a Planet X to exist.

Apparently, from popular beliefs, Planet X is on a 3,600 years orbit around the sun and is due for a passage really soon near Earth.

What about Planet X/Nibiru and the “end of the world” in 2012?

One more prophecy is adding up to the already overloaded stack of prophecies for 2012. It is going to be a really bad year if we believe in all that nonsense. It’s not really clear what role Planet X is going to play in 2012. Some say it’s due for a passage in 2012 and its passage would be devastating for earth because its magnetic force would stop the Earth rotating for several days. That would eventually cause earthquakes, volcanoes, Tsunamis and hurricanes. That would also cause the Earth’s magnetic poles to shift. You all understand that would eliminate almost every sort of life on this planet. Scary? Well not really because it’s not the first time Planet X is associated with some sort of prophecy. The last one was in 2003. Nibiru was supposed to pass near earth sometime in June 2003 causing the same catastrophes. As you all imagine it never happened because we’re still there and the north is still pointing north. The other reason why it’s not scary is because there’s no evidence for planet X to exist.

So you say it doesn’t exist right?

I hate saying yes or no. Here’s what I think about it:

Dr. John Murray of the UK’s Open University says he might have found what could be Planet X. The size of the planet would be between 1 and 10 times the size of Jupiter and it could possibly be a Brown Dwarf. This is also the conclusion of most of the Planet X theorists. The only problem is that Dr. John Murray give it an orbit of 6 million years. It’s quite far from the 3600 years Planet X theorists predict. There’s also something about the IRAS (Infrared Astronomical Satellite) that surveyed the sky in 1982. Gerry Neugebauer, chief IRAS scientist, said:

“A heavenly body possibly as large as the giant planet Jupiter and possibly so close to Earth that it would be part of this solar system has been found in the direction of the constellation Orion by an orbiting telescope. All I can tell you is that we don’t know what it is”.

What to believe? NASA says they haven’t any proof of it, but says it’s possible. That let me believe that there’s a possibility for another planet in our solar system. I just don’t buy the end of the world prophecy related to Planet X. I’m going with that conclusion: Nibiru might exist but we don’t have much proof of it. I say we have to stay receptive to the signs of another planet in our solar system but there’s no way Planet X will change our world in 2012. Being on such a big orbit, if it’s due to pass near earth in 2012, I’m pretty sure we would be able to spot it because we’re only 4 years away. Also, it didn’t pass in 2003 as predicted.

I made this article kind of short even if there’s ton of information about Planet X because it all come to the same thing: NASA vs. Average Joe and it might exist but no one’s sure.

So don’t worry too much about Planet X: It might exist but it doesn’t matter that much for you and me.

In my previous post I talked about the U.S. spy satellite that will soon enter our atmosphere because it is falling from orbit. I mentioned it contains hazardous materials. It is confirmed that the satellite contains Hydrazine. Hydrazine is a rocket fuel that was used during WWII for the Messerschmidt Me 163B and is now commonly used as a low-power mono propellant for the maneuvering thrusters of spacecraft. Hydrazine is a colorless liquid with an ammonia-like odor and can cause harm to anyone who contacts it.

Here’s the safety note about Hydrazine from Wikipedia:

Hydrazine is highly toxic and dangerously unstable, especially in the anhydrous form. Symptoms of acute exposure to high levels of hydrazine in humans may include irritation of the eyes, nose, and throat, dizziness, headache, nausea, pulmonary edema, seizures, coma, and it can also damage the liver, kidneys, and central nervous system. The liquid is corrosive and may produce dermatitis from skin contact in humans and animals. Effects to the lungs, liver, spleen, and thyroid have been reported in animals chronically exposed to hydrazine via inhalation. Increased incidences of lung, nasal cavity, and liver tumors have been observed in rodents exposed to hydrazine.

There’s good chances the satellite won’t cause any harm and that it will be dealt with correctly, but still my reflexion from the previous post remains. Why aren’t there any mechanism built in the satellite to deal with this situation accordingly instead of taking unnecessary chances?

The government said that a large US spy satellite is falling from orbit and could hit earth in late February or March. It has lost all power and propulsion, making in uncontrollable. The worst thing is that the spy satellite may contain hazardous materials and they have no idea where on earth it will fall. Obviously, it is not the first time a satellite fall from orbit and they’ve all been harmless.

Here’s what Gordon Johndroe, a spokesman for the National Security Council has to say about the situation:

“Appropriate government agencies are monitoring the situation”

“Numerous satellites over the years have come out of orbit and fallen harmlessly.”

“We are looking at potential options to mitigate any possible damage this satellite may cause”

What I don’t understand is why don’t they put a mechanism in the satellite to prevent that from happening? We send people in space and bring them back. Why can’t we put an auto-destruction or “bring it back” device on a simple god damn satellite? I imagine the engineers meeting when they built the spy satellite:

“But what to we do when there’s no more power?”
“I don’t know, we’ll deal with that in 25 years”

There’s good chances it falls harmlessly and that’s really not a good reason to say it doesn’t matter. It’s not because it doesn’t harm humans that it doesn’t matter: it’s not a better news if the satellite falls in the ocean, it contains hazardous materials.

I really don’t understand why there was nothing built-in to deal with the death of the satellite, they knew it would happen. Even if does no harm, I’m just concerned with the quality of the engineers we employ to build critical things.
