Conspiracy theories that NASA never really went to the moon and faked it all are many and various. There are of course lots of articles, blogs, books and probably Lecture Circuit careers based on this theory.
We can of course prove that astronauts from the USA did actually go there - for example the reflector left deliberately so that a laser beam can be bounced back from it and give us accurate measurements of the lunar distance. It was probably the most amazing (and probably for the people involved also one of the most frightening) things a Human Being can do.
The mainstay of the conspiracy theories are the anomalies in the record of the events. The argument goes that a lot of the still pictures and film footage shot there is too good to be true or somehow looks artificial (while a lot of the television images - especially the earlier stuff was too snowy and degraded compared with raw signals collected at the big dishes.
I don't need to go over all the arguments - they are already done to death worldwide.

My "take" on all this is to try and apply logical thinking. Like everyone else except NASA and the US Government I don't know what is true and what is not but this is my theory.
Since both sides of the argument can point to at least some "convincing truths" it is probable that they are both right! I think yes they did go there and leave artifacts there and bring samples back etc. BUT also yes, some of the pictures and recordings could have been faked.
Why would they do that? Probably because the whole thing was as much about international power and prestige as it was about discovery and science. I think it would be very important for them to not only do these amazing things but also to have first class images and records of them. The whole world was watching and it would be natural not to just rely on the efforts of astronauts in bulky suits busy in a hostile and totally new environment. There is the other theory that some fake images were made to cover up work or locations they wanted to keep secret for whatever reason.
I am sure that throughout history powers-that-be have manipulated, enhanced, spun or otherwise altered records before making them public and they will probably always do so. I believe this case is no different

I've read and heard all kinds of comments on the Galactic Alignment and center. I spent some time trying to figure out how something trivial like this could begin to be viewed even from farcical points of view as potentially dangerous.

Forget about who or why 2012 was picked for a little bit, I have plenty of nonsense theory to provide for this as well. What I would like to know is if anyone has information to debunk the idea of us entering into or too close to a galactic bow shock wave. Our Galaxy is moving towards the Virgo cluster of galaxies. Virgo contains around 3000 galaxies, our cluster is smaller this is why we are heading this direction. The solar system does cross the galactic 'Plain' every 26,000 years which last occurred in 2003 without incident, but the edge of the Galaxy that is positioned at the front of our movement happens only every 226 Million years. Think more like passing the Galactic Prime Meridian rather than the Equator and the prime meridian is the front of our Galactic vehicle. As our own solar system travels around the Galaxy it too has what is described as a Bow Shock wave ahead of it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bow_shock
The collision of particles ahead of the magnetosphere produces a great deal of cosmic radiation. We do not feel terrible effects of cosmic rays due to the Suns large Magnetosphere and our Own Earths Magnetosphere.
Those who don't believe global warming is Man's fault often sight the answer lies in the Solar Cycle. I would be someone who doesn't believe the science is in on either side of the warming argument, and I assure you I am listening both sides. There are studies that attempt to connect the suns cycles of higher solar wind activity to weather phenomenon we have seen. Some say it increases cloud cover, I've also heard that as the winds push on the magnetosphere it causes jet stream patterns to Arc to and from the poles creating warming near the caps and pulling colder air toward the equator. This aside, the point is cosmic radiation might have an effect on weather patterns. Also the magnetosphere flexes with the movement of the core and the radiation forces externally acting on it.
http://eprints.whiterose.ac.uk/4060/1/brownb1.pdf
The Galileo mission to Jupiter's moon IO recorded volcanic eruptions higher than we anticipated possible. The plate tectonics were clearly influenced by Jupiter’s Gravity, but there was an extra boost to the propellant attributed to electrical arcing from Jupiter’s Magnetic field which is many times larger than Earth's. Electrical theory says that when you pass a current through a wire you get a corresponding magnetic field on its exterior. In the reverse direction if you move a magnetic field over a wire/conductor you get electrical current. The point here is magnetisms effects on magma.

What would a bow shock wave caused by something as massive as a Galaxy be like?
It would seem that a mass moving into an empty space should cause no such wave, however a theory of quantum physics states that on average space is not empty. There are particles that the Galaxy's mass, gravitational waves, emitted particles would most likely be colliding with. Why would there be no such shock wave.

So the sum of all this is, what if in 2012, despite how we arrived at this date, we arrive at a point in our orbit where we are in a region of space with intense cosmic radiation, with the sun between us and the Galaxy, leaving some of our Magnetic protection on the wrong end of the solar system for us, outside of the Galaxy's magnetic influences as well as we climb above the Galactic latitudinal plane. Additionally our current Solar Maximum is scheduled to end in the year 2012. Would a super intense wave of cosmic radiation compress our magnetosphere towards our core, agitating our magma energy enough, influencing our weather patterns subtly enough for disasters, bathing organisms in enough radiation to cause death and unviable mutation to actually lend some credence to this 2012 myth?
http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/070423_cosmic_evo.html
Some also refer to this side of the Galaxy as the North Side for you Nostradamas people.
Again, forget how the date was arrived at, from a science stand point, please present the evidence against.
