The solar flares they produce, if they're large enough could knock out a cities power at the worst. As for the economic crisis, as a sign of the end thats bullshit. Did the world end 4 years after 911 no, did the world end after ww 1 or two no, did it end after the great depression nope, or did it end after the savings and loans crisis which is quite similar to whats going on now NO. This list can go on and on if you like. In the Bible it says "No one will know when the end will be". Why are people beleiving the Mayans, we don't worship them!!!! If the asteroid hit us in 2033, we would have damage but we wouldn't be wiped out, as it is not large enough. When you think about it, why would they write a book to scare us to make money, if they were sure the world would end. What good would money be if this were true. As for the sun being in line with the galaxies eliptical plane, well that happens every december WOW SCAREY!!! Whats more, is that theres some other prophecy involving something called the mayan sunstone predicting something. Thats false too, because theres no such thing as a mayan sunstone. The Sunstone is the name of the Aztec calender, not the Mayan. They both were mesoamerican cutltures, but they did not exist at the same time. Now really, if we were dead sure the world would end why did this bullshit all of a sudden just pop up a few years ago. If people knew for sure, decades ago I'm sure it would have been passed down from generation to generation so people could prepare for it. Lastly, no one I know actually knows of this nonsense I myself found out about it by spotting some ridiculous book in some book store. What really made me laugh was I saw a book entitled "2012 the end of the mayan calender the battle for souls begins" That sums up its nothing more than a bunch of screw lose authors trying to make a quick buck and to win an award. that book actually sounds more like a science fiction story than something meant to scare people. yes I know this isn't the right forum to post this, but this forum has the most viewers. If you dare comment back on this and say i'm wrong get a life and get layed.
